Working on New Jewelry!!!

WOOHOO!!!!! I am so excited to attend the Atlanta market in August. I am hoping to bring back lots of fabulous things for the boutique. The boutique is growing with wonderful items every week. Natural stone, swarovski crystal, solder, and leather...This is my new jewelry design. I am thrilled, leather is a material I have not worked with before. Its going to be great. I will soon have TRUTH bracelets. A Truth bracelet encourages you to discover, express and embody your truth and stay true to yourself. I will post pictures soon.

Boutique

I'm getting the boutique set up. I've already sold a few thing but more are coming in daily. I guess I'm going to have to hit the... estate sale, garage sales and of course my favorite junk store (Laverty's) for thing to use as displays. Here are pictures of some items that are already in....

HELP!!!

I NEED HELP!!! I have been trying to come up with a name for my boutique. This is so hard for me, I consider myself a creative person but those creative juices were just not flowing. I want something catchy, cute and reflects me and the things I sell. I had the same problem naming my salon (a friend came up with that name). OK so I got my Thesaurus out and started looking up words like style, chic, fashion and this is what I came up with " Swanky Rose Boutique" or "Swanky Boutique" or I could just go with "Sugars Obsessions Boutique". If anyone has any suggestions or a comment I would love to hear it. I will soon be selling my jewelry and clothing from my blog. This is the first week to have my boutique open in the salon. Its been a good week.

A New Venture

I am opening a small boutique in my hair salon. I am so excited about this new venture. I love fashion and have always wanted my own boutique. I will be working on new jewelry designs and my rose pins.... which can be worn in your hair, on your clothes or use in your house, on your favorite pillow, lamp shade. There are so many ways you can use the pins. I am also working on new designs for my vintage slips, these are great to wear with your favorite western boots and a awesome belt and of course your chunky tarnished silver beaded necklace. I will be going to market this weekend with my good friend Chesney from Chesneys Boutique...she also has a boutique in her salon.Can't wait!!! We'll see where this venture takes me. This may inspire me to design my own clothes. I will post some pictures once the boutique is in.

LOOKING FORWARD....2011

SUGARS OBSESSIONS is looking forward to what grand things will happen for us this year. My hand dyed and vintage velvet flowers were big sellers along with my necklaces in 2010. I am taking this month to work on all these creative ideas I have. Soon I hope to add t-shirts to "Sugars Obsessions". I love this picture of Audrey....look at the necklace... love it.

I AM SO EXCITED!!!! I received some exciting news on Friday about my flowers, no details yet, its just talk right now...will definitely keep y'all informed.

Great Finds!

This was a great weekend for treasures. I would say the best find ever is the black urn. Found it at the dump which means it was FREE!!! yes, you heard me right FREE!!! It makes a good home for my topiary. I found the cool shabby window (not sure what to do with it yet), the cute mirror and the awesome ceiling tile (it has a lot of plaster on it that has come off) at my favorite shop (Laverty's) I try to go twice a week.

Busy! Busy! Busy!

I am so busy, I am working on a order for ten Christmas stockings and working on my jewelry too. I only have three weeks to get ready for the trunk show, I'm going to have to work fast. These are pictures of the stockings I am working on they look borning now but they are going to be so cute when they are done. As if that were not enough my salon is celebrating its one year annivarsary on December 1st, which means I get to plan a anniversary bash. (fun!fun!fun! I have some great ideas). Oh yeah!I also have a Christmas party for the shop and a dinner party to plan.

I am posting some pictures of the necklaces I have made and sold at Deck the Halls this past weekend. It was a great show, I sold almost all of my necklaces. Roundtop... here we come!

I am so excited I can hardly stand it, I look forward to our yearly girls trip to Roundtop and Marbuger Farms Antique Show. My favorite time of year to go is in the fall. There is something about driving into Roundtop seeing pumkins here and there and seeing miles and miles of tents....I CAN NOT WAIT!!!

Destin Flordia Vacation

We deceided to take our vacation in Destin, Flordia this year. I was alittle apprehensive because of the oil spill, but the sand was white and the water was blue there was no oil anywhere, it was beautiful. It is the first vacation I can remember where it was only me my husband and my three boys. We have always gone on vacation with our families which we enjoy doing but this was different.
